ASTM International published Manual 57,
Routine Coal and Coke Analysis: Collection, Interpretation and Use of Analytical Data.
The manual contains 10 chapters that provide information on routine coal and coke analysis.
Manual 57 provides descriptions of more than 35 ASTM standard methods, discussions of the use of the methods in industry and the significance of the data collected using the methods.
Chapters cover classification of:
- Coals by rank.
- Microcomponents in coal.
- Sampling.
- Coal testing.
- Proximate, ultimate and miscellaneous analysis.
- Calculating coal analysis from as determined to different bases.
- Developments in instrumentation for routine coal analysis.
